Obituary

Mrs. Zelma Jewell Henson, age 85 of Portland, TN died Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, TN. Mrs. Henson was born April 10, 1936 In Portland, TN the daughter of the late Robert and Verlene Lee.

Mrs. Henson is survived by her daughter, Karen Harper of Portland, TN. Four sons; Stevie Ray Henson, Gary Henson, Stan Henson and Neil Henson all of Portland, TN. Her sister, Myrtle Vaughn of Portland, TN along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Along with her parents, Mrs. Henson was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Henson and four sons Randall Henson, Brent Henson, Allen Henson and Ronald Henson. Mrs. Henson was a member of State Line General Baptist Church in Portland, TN. 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time Tuesday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brent Henson, Aaron Henson, Ben Briley, Lucas Henson, Jakeb Hester, Brian Henson and Chad Henson.
