Obituary

Mr. Wesley Eldon Shankle Jr. age 62 of Portland, TN died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Shankle was born March 22, 1959 in Richmond, VA the son of the late Glenda and Wesley Shankle Sr.

Mr. Shankle is survived by his wife, Sherri West Shankle of Portland, TN. His daughter, Trina Osborne (Joe) of Bethpage, TN. His step-daughter, Christy Shankle of Westmoreland, TN. Three brothers; Chris Shankle of Hermitage, TN, Steve Shankle (Kathy) of Gallatin, TN and Tracy Shankle of Portland, TN. Two sisters, Anita Jo Shankle and Marie Shankle both of Portland, TN along with 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. 

Along with his parents, Wesley was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kimberly Shankle White. Wesley was a member of Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Portland, TN.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Liberty Free Will Baptist Church in Portland, TN. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until service time Saturday at Free Will Baptist Church. Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements for the Shankle family.
