Mrs. Pearline Shoulders Renfro, age 96 of Portland, TN, died Friday, June 26, 2020 at White House Health Care in White House, TN. Mrs. Renfro was born May 26, 1924 in Mildale, TN the daughter of the late Louella Barker and late step-father, Marion Barker. Mrs. Renfro is survived by a son, James Ronald Renfro (Sara) of Portland, TN. Five daughters; Sharon Keen (Larry) of Portland, TN, Beverly Rogers (Lannie) of Cottontown, TN, Linda Doyle (Wilson) of Brentwood, TN, Debra Catron (John) of Gallatin, TN and Sandra Escue (Glen) of Portland, TN. A sister, Sue Vanburskirk. 13 grandchildren; Jason Renfro, Justin Renfro, David W Renfro, Sheila Bever, Brian Keen, Angela Keen, Roger Pond, Kerry Thompson, Jennifer Cothron, Jay Catron, Christopher Escue, Chad Escue and Coty Escue. 24 great grandchildren; Brent Renfro, Dawson Renfro, Alex Renfro, Jordon Renfro, Aubrey Renfro, Chloe Renfro, Erica Keen, Austin Keen, Taylor Williams, Faith Thompson, Madilyn Pond, Caroline Pond, Kathryn Pond, Jailyn Cothron, Riley Cothron, Cj Cothron, Annalise Escue, Kia Escue, Allette Escue, Sophia Escue, Olivia Clair Escue, Mena Escue, Barrett Escue, Hunter Douglas Brooks and Wren Escue. Two great great grandchildren, Brandon and Kayden Brooks. Mrs. Renfro was a member of Victory Assembly Church in Portland, TN. Along with her parents, Pearline was preceded in death by her husband, James Herbert Renfro, 3 children, James Herbert Renfro Jr., Barbara Renfro and Jerry Wayne Renfro. Her grandparents, Joe and Sally Shoulders, two brothers Benny and Carol Barker. A grandson, Paul "Kenny" Renfro and a great grandson, Kent Renfro. Pearline loved Jesus, she came to know the Lord while watching a Billy Graham crusade! She and dad attended church at Immanuel Baptist church in Portland TN! Mother loved dancing, singing and loved studying the Bible and taught Sunday School for many years! Her passion was her family and cooking! Her chocolate pies and Christmas cakes were amazing! She loved playing cards and games! We would have game nights where played cards, she was best at rook! People would accuse her of cheating because she could tell you every card that was played! Mother's love, although not perfect was always evident through out life! She has lived a long life where she got to see all of us grown! So mom went to heaven Shouting as we ushered her into the presence of God! Go rest high on that mountain your work on earth is done! Your loving family! Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2020 at Gilbert Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Garden. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM Sunday and from 9:00 AM until service time Monday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
