Obituary

Mr. Marshall Frederick Redfern, age 78 of Portland, TN died Sunday, February 21, 2021 at his home in Portland, TN. Mr. Redfern was born September 8, 1942 in Cross Plains, TN the son of the late Marshall David and Dovie Redfern.

Mr. Redfern is survived by his wife, Joanne Redfern of Portland, TN. A son, Dwayne Frederick Redfern of Cross Plains, TN. Six daughters; Dovie Renee Redfern, Rhonda Gayle Collins (Tommy), Rita Michelle Redfern and Robin Denise Redfern all of Cross Plains, TN, Ladonna Brown of Portland, TN and Lisa Alford (Jimmy) of Franklin, KY. A brother, Turner Redfern of Cedar Hill, TN. Two sisters, Mildred Ann Owens and Barbara Ann Holt both of Cedar Hill, TN. Grandchildren; Amanda Couch (Daniel), Brandon Alford, Amara Alford, Amy Perry, Dereck Redfern, T.C. Collins, Kevin Collins, Kayla Jones, Bradley Gober, Bryant Hassell, Christa Hassell, Shellie Freeland, Jessica Redfern, Eathan Redfern, Stevie Redfern and Spencer Henderson along with 27 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Mr. Redfern is preceded in death by a son, James Edward Redfern and a daughter, Londa Sue Bradley. Two grandsons, Dustin Eric Redfern and Marshall Allen  Franklin along with nine brothers and sisters. Mr. Redfern attended New Testament Apostolic Church in White House, TN. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Cross Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
