Obituary

Mr. Larry Glen McFarlin, age 75 of Portland, TN, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Chandler Assisted Living in Bowling Green, KY. Mr. McFarlin was born July 21, 1945 in Miami, FL the son of the late Lawrence Edward and Zelpher Lillian McFarlin.

Mr. McFarlin is survived by his wife, Shirley McFarlin of Portland, TN. A son, Jeffrey Hardin McFarlin (Leslie) of Portland, TN. A daughter, Pamela Denise Cole (Keith Leonard) of Portland, TN. Three brothers Joe Russell (Marilyn), Gary McFarlin (Linda) and Tommy McFarlin (Penny) all of Portland, TN. A sister, Carol Beasley (Maxey) of Cottontown, TN. Six grandchildren, Kasey Commerer, Aaron McFarlin, Marley McFarlin, Austin McFarlin, Taylor Cole and Ryan Cole along with two great grandchildren, Timothy Pike McFarlin and Mac Allen Commerer.

Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allen McFarlin (Teresa), Son-in-law Ronnie Cole and a brother Roger McFarlin. Larry attended Union Chapel General Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Portland Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday and from 9:00 AM until service time Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Aaron McFarlin, Austin McFarlin, Ryan Cole, Glenn Denning, Oscar Webb and Larry Goodwin.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Union Chapel General Baptist Church 1125 College St., Portland, TN 37148.
