Mr. Felix “Alex” Wheeley age 58 of Portland, TN died Monday, November 1, 2021 at TriStar ER in Portland, TN. Mr. Wheeley was born November 18, 1962 in Franklin, TN. The son of the late Merl Wheeley.

Mr. Wheeley is survived by his wife, Christie Renee Wheeley of Portland, TN. His mother Sue Wheeley of Bethpage, TN. Three daughters Christine Wheeley-Banagis of South Weymouth, MA, Bryanna Manning of Portland, TN and Megan Hankin of Ocala, FL. A son Shawn Wheeley (Mackenzie)  of Westmoreland, TN. Three brothers Matthew Wheeley of Bethpage, TN, Micky Wheeley of Bethpage, TN and John Wheeley of Red Boiling Springs, TN. A sister Vickie Wheeley-Faler of Bethpage, TN. A special friend that was more like a brother, Scott Hutton of Portland, TN. Grandchildren; Kohen, Braelyn, Olivia, Adelynn, Royce, Dakota and Lydia along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. 

Alex was a veteran of the United States Navy where he spent 13 years as a submarine sonar technician. He also worked for several years as a draftsman supervisor for Kirby Building Systems in Portland, TN. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 5, 2021 at Gilbert Funeral Home with Jacob Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Thursday and from 9:00 AM to service time Friday at Gilbert Funeral Home.
