Obituary

Mrs. Clara M. Likens, age 92 of Portland, TN died Friday, April 23, 2021 at Front Porch Assisted Living in Portland, TN surrounded by family. Mrs. Likens was born August 26, 1928 in Macon Co., TN the daughter of the late Edgar and Bessie Meador.

Mrs. Likens is survived by her son, Steven Likens (Pamela) of Springfield, TN. Two daughters, Debbie Beauchamp of Bowling Green, KY and Sandra Harris of Portland, TN. A step-son, Carney Likens (Nanci) of Indianapolis, IN. Six grandchildren; Josh Likens, Jesse Likens, Amy Somerville, Taylor Harris, David Likens and LeighAnne Likens. Five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Likens was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Likens. A daughter, Carolyn Hendrick and a granddaughter, Barbara Lee. Three sisters, Lillian Lyles Mayes, Lois Miller and Mable Waldron. Four brothers; Clarence Meador, Henry Meador, Lee Meador and Joe Meador. Mrs. Likens was a member of First Baptist Church in Portland, TN.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 26, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Portland, TN with Bro. Tim Colovas officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday at Gilbert Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM to service time Monday at First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Jesse Likens, Josh Likens, Danny Lewis, Taylor Harris, Steve Somerville and Jed Hanes.
