Obituary

Mr. Basil Franklin Trouten Sr., age 80 of Portland, TN died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN. Mr. Trouten was born January 17, 1940 in Bridgeport, OH the son of the late Floyd and Della Ann Trouten.

Mr. Trouten is survived by his wife, Hilda Trouten of Portland, TN. Three sons, Basil Trouten Jr. (Karen) of Portland, TN, Mark Trouten of Cartersville, GA and Vincent Trouten (Catrina) of Cartersville, GA. A daughter, Roxanne Walker (Greg) of Franklin, KY. Three sisters, Mary Lauderdale of Brookpark, OH, Linda Frates (Paul) of Jefferson, GA and Della Lofton (Sam) of North Ridgeville, OH along with 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Basil was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Leroy Trouten, a sister, Debbie Novak and a grandson, Patrick Johnson. Mr Trouten was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Franklin, KY.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:00 AM until service time Saturday at Gilbert Funeral Home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
